Kenya: Kagumoini AB

Looking for a treat with your daily cuppa? This gem from Kenya will satisfy that craving and more. A slightly smoother coffee for the region, this coffee is also surprisingly delicate for an African bean.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Notes: Lavender florals, berries, nectarine, juicy & sweet w/ dark choc finish

Process: Washed

Varietal: Batian, Ruiru, SL28, SL34

Altitude: 1750m.a.s.l.

The Kagumoini Washing Station is situated in Muranga County and operates under the management of the Kamacharia Farmers Cooperative Society, a community of 1384 farmers who bring their coffee cherries from small farms to the wetmill for processing.

The coffee from Kagumoini Washing Station includes SL28, Ruiru 11, and a small portion of Batian, grown in deep, well-drained red volcanic soil, at an elevation of approximately 1750masl.

After picking, the cherries undergo a fully washed processing method, which involves the complete removal of the outer skin and pulp during the washing and depulping stages. After the cherries are pulped, they are placed in tanks for fermentation overnight, washed the following morning, soaked and then before being carefully dried on raised beds.
